Composer successes!

Congratulations to Martha Stoddard and Matthew Whiteside!
Martha Stoddard has been awarded a a Special Judges’ Citation in The American Prize, describing her catalogue of compositions as 'Music for use, well crafted, accessible and performance ready'.

“The American Prize is pleased to bring additional attention to these two fine composers for their unique abilities,” said David Katz, chief judge of The American Prize. “Both have built enviable careers writing music that clearly inspires audiences and rewards performers. We hope this recognition will help generate more performances of their works and encourage them to continue to produce high quality compositions for the benefit of a broad public.”

Matthew Whiteside has been awarded a Francis Chagrin Award by Sound and Music. The Award helps composers towards the costs of creating new work.
