Written for Dr. Carla Rees, Dreadnought is an exploration of the expressive potential of the flute, making use of the full range of the instrument. Inspired by the navalist setting of the Old Royal Naval College, this piece tries to evoke the sense of an emerging monster rising from the watery abyss.
