News from Matthew Whiteside

Matthew Whiteside has had some recent compositional successes including:

- Funding from Creative Scotland to work attend the rarescale Summer School and to work with Carla Rees in the creation and performance or a new work for contrabass flute and electronics
- A commission to write the music for Michael Palin’s Quest for Artemisia for BBC 4 (about baroque painter Artemisia Gentileschi) Check back soon for information about the broadcast.
- When Two Worlds Collide will be performed in the Sound festival in Aberdeen which takes place from 22nd October to 8th November. The piece is a collaborative installation with Dominika Mayovich of 6 paintings, each with a motion triggered sound design element and a score by Matthew. The work was co-commissioned by R-Space Gallery in Lisburn and Sound festival, with added support from the Lisburn Arts Advisory Committee.
- His Solo for Viola D’amore and Electronics will be also be performed on the 7th November as part of Sound festival.
