Davood Jafari
Davood Jafari was born in Shiraz, Iran, in 1982.
His early musical interests included learning piano accordion, violin, piano and kamancheh. He gained a degree in piano performance and a Masters in composition at the Tehran Art University, later moving to the UK where he completed a second Masters degree and PhD in composition at Trinity Laban Conservatoire.
Davood's compositional interests are centred around blending Persian and Western tradition. He is a dedicated music educator and is a professional Braille music notation expert.
Jenny is a member of Platform 4 - a composer collective based in Sheffield. Jenny teaches piano, composition and theory classes in Sheffield, and she is an ABRSM Theory examiner. She directs the Sheffield Viola Ensemble and First Position Strings - an adult beginners string ensemble.
